General Rules

Top Level Actions

Only actions which we think a user will use on a regular (daily) basis should be promoted to a top level action. As a general rule, there should only be 2-3 of these actions. Everything else should be demoted to the "More" dropdown.

As a general rule, Top Level Action text should be limited to 1 word.

Default Sort

The default sort for tables should be what we think most of the time a user will want first given their unique use case. The goal here is to get the user the information they need as fast as possible.

Most of the time, this should be Popularity.

Backstory

Through differentiating where a datatable is from, we can appropriately set our customers expectations around weather they can query or find this data elsewhere.

Platform Table

Example

<UITable
   type='platform'
   data={}
   sort='popularity'/>

Usage

The Platform Table element should be used when the data in the table is not generated from a user writing a query or is not a preview or result of data.

Source Table

Example

<UITable
   type='source'
   data={}
   sort='start_dt'/>

Usage

The Source Table element should be used when the data in the table is generated from a user writing a query or is a preview or result of data.
